Edisto Island

What a great weekend with the family at Edisto Island, SC! All of my siblings were able to make it down and it made for a fun filled trip! Owen had many firsts; first time to the beach, first time in the ocean, first time in the pool, and first time meeting Uncle Joe and Aunt Megan! Owen will soon realize how cool his aunt is, she bought him Kanye West lullabys. I must say, they are much more tolerable than traditional lullabys. I wish more of us lived closer, but at least we will see them all again in a few weeks in MI.

Hey ya'll, thanks for the great memories :)

Four Months Old: 14 lbs 9 oz, 25 inches

Our little guy is growing and changing each and every day. He turned 4 months old yesterday, and is starting to sleep through the night more often. Mom and Dad are over the moon about this! I just hope that I am not jinxing it. It feels soooooo wonderful to get a good night's rest, I think I forgot what that felt like! We decided to purchase a Bumbo seat this week per a friend's suggestion and I am so happy that we did. Owen loves it; it is a seat that allows him to sit upright and see his world around him. The first night we had it he sat in the living room and played and we even took it out into the wonderful spring evening where he enjoyed looking at all of his surroundings, especially his caterpiller toy! I think this will come in handy when we head to the beach next week.

Grandma Kim is now in town and seems to be loving every minute of the little guy! She is such a big help and I know that she is creating special memories for herself, like the walk in the torrential downpour; she is even getting quite the reputation around the neighborhood ;)

I can't believe that she will be gone in just a week, if we could only get both sets of grandparents to move....

Rolling Over

Hit a big milestone yesterday (with a little help from his mom)! Owen has been extremely close to rolling over for some time now, enough that Grandma Julie has warned me not to leave him on the ottoman alone. Well, last night he was really turning to his side when he was on his back. So I decided to put him on his tummy to see if her could roll over. I propped his arms up and he immediately rolled to his back. He had the hugest grin on his face, I think because we were all screaming with joy. I will post a video of this soon, just know that he was being quite stubborn when I turned the video on so it took awhile, be patient...

Growing Boy!

Our little guy is growing like a weed! I took him yesterday to get a vaccine and I had the nurse weigh him. He weighed in at 12 lbs 10 oz--2 pounds in 2 weeks! I thought that he was starting to feel heavy in my arms...

Smiling at Grandma Julie

Enjoy!

Little Giggles

Owen is changing so much each day. He really is starting to develop his own personality and it is as sweet as can be. Grandma Julie got him up yesterday morning and when Luke and I walked into the room as she was holding him, he let out the tiniest little giggle (at least that is what we think it was). I think he was laughing at his daddy, he sure is funny! It definitely wasn't a belly laugh, but it still made us very amazed and happy.

The little guy is also starting to move around a lot more when he is awake and has discovered that he can splash water in the bathtub, I think that I get just as wet as he does during the bath now! Tummy time is starting to become more tolerable for Owen and he can even lift his head off of the floor now (but not for too long). I have a feeling that once he starts crawling, I am going to have my hands full!

We have had a wonderful weekend with him, he is so easy going and enjoyable. Grandma Julie was nice enough to babysit for us last night while we went to our friends' house for dinner, we sure will miss that when she leaves :) Other than constantly spitting up, she says that he doesn't give her any trouble. Thank you Owen for being such a wonderful baby boy!
