8 Months and...
First trip to the ER! On Sunday Owen came down with a cold like no other! His nose was constantly running, which he did not like. So being the responsible parents that we are, we took him to daycare on Monday. Luke picked him up as I had class, and thought that he sounded really congested and had developed a bad cough. So naturally he took him to the Dr. Only to find out that Owen just had a cold and to keep an eye on it to see if his breathing ever seemed labored. Luke took him home, fed him supper, a bath and to bed at the usual 6:00 time. Well, Owen woke up around 9:30 and seemed to be having a very difficult time breathing. It scared us, so we decided to take him to the ER just in case. Sure enough, he has croup :( The drs gave him 2 separate breathing treatments and 2.5 hours later, we were on our way home. The good news, we got to get his weight for his 8th month: 18.9 lbs!
At least he had a fun time right before he caught the cold from cousin Ryan!

Long Weekend...here we come!
Good thing a long weekend is coming! I think everyone is looking forward to a weekend full of QT--hopefully :) With Owen setting his own bedtime for 5:30, it is hard for either one of us to get to spend much time with him (except for 5 a.m. and that is not so much fun). Hence, we don't have many pictures :)
We did have family pics taken last weekend, hopefully I will get them back soon and I will post a couple to the blog so everyone can see how much Owen has grown! We did another first this past week; went to the grocery store and rode in the seat on the cart. Owen was a little hesitant at first, but by the end of the trip, he was having a blast! It is so much easier now that I have room in my cart for the groceries. I know I won't be saying that for long since he will want to grab everything that he sees pretty soon, but for now, his ability to sit upright for an extended period of time has made my life easier at the grocery store.
