Ladies love him...

Well at 11 days old Owen has officially had his first kiss from a girl. Brett and Jarrett came over with their 16 month old daughter, Emma, and I think it was love at first sight--but could you blame her?? I am sure they will become very good friends soon. I didn't get a picture of it, but I am sure it won't be the last time that she plants a kiss on him. Too bad he slept through the whole visit.

We'll try anything...

To get him to stop crying!! This was one of the first few days at home and we could not comfort him; he wasn't sleepy, wasn't hungry, wasn't dirty, we finally put him in the vibrating/singing lamb. Boy did that settle him down! Unfortunately, this does not always work, but it is a definite go to in our list of many...

The Grandmas

We were fortunate enough to have both Grandmas arrive shortly after Owen was born. Grandma Kim surprised us at the hospital on Tuesday night, we were all so excited to see her and I think she fell in love at first sight--but what Grandma wouldn't?? Grandma Kim secretly booked a flight once she found out that I was in labor and left shortly after. Obviously when you are on an airplane you have to turn your phone off...well, Luke and I thought that maybe she had lost her mind. Who turns their phone off when you find out you are about to have your first grandson? Little did we know what she had planned...We couldn't be more greatful for everything that she was able to do for us while she was here and we can't wait for her return in a couple of weeks.

Luckily, Grandma Julie was also able to make it to the hospital. She was scheduled to arrive on a flight from Naples on Saturday, January 23, but Owen decided to come a little early. She was able to change her flight to Wednesday and spent time with us in the hospital. She too fell in love at first sight :) She has been a tremendous help, it is like I have a live in nanny, housekeeper, and a personal chef...I could get used to this! I don't know if I will be able to let her leave.

Our Newest Addition

We are pleased to announce the arrival of the newest Piepkow family member, Owen Lucas! He was born on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 2:03 p.m. He weighed 7 lbs 4 oz and was 20 inches long. Thank goodness he didn't take after his dad in this department! We are so blessed to have him in our lives and we have all fallen deeply in love already. We invite you all to share in this journey with us, even if you live many states away!
