Real tears are so sad :(

Poor little guy has been feeling under the weather ever since starting day care. He can't seem to shake his runny nose (which I expected). He finally doesn't have a temperature today, but I think he may have begun teething. Drool is definitely on the rise and he has been crying real tears a lot today. He just looks so sad and I feel awful for him. Part of me hopes that he'll wake up with a tooth tomorrow, but there is another part that kind of hopes he can hold off until next week. We are getting family portraits taken this weekend and I am really hoping to still catch him in his 'all gums' phase. I guess only time will tell...

Closer to one than to a newborn...

Happy 7 month birthday, Owen! Unfortunatly, Owen spiked his first temperature today and day care had to call me. Lucky for me, I was already on my way to pick him up. I decided to take him to the dr. after talking with my mom. Ears and throat checked out to be fine. Hopefully he will break it by morning since I have students coming tomorrow. The good news is, we were able to find out his weight for his 7 month update: 17 lbs 14 oz.

So the sniffles begin...

We started day care on Monday, let's just say we have both had a case of the sniffles this week. Mine are emotionally induced, while Owen's are caused by all of the kiddo germs that he has already come in contact with. And yes, I know, he is building his immune system. But it breaks my heart to see him sniffling and sneezing after just three days in day care.

Luckily the day care is closed today and tomorrow so I get him all to myself!! If only each week were a three day work week...

Last Day of Summer

Today is our unofficial last day of summer :( Owen will begin daycare tomorrow so that I can get my classroom ready as well as get used to the idea of having someone else watch my baby. Owen surprised me today by sleeping in...almost til 8! Then we had a great morning of playing/cuddling, followed by an afternoon of shopping. He is napping right now and I am thinking that we may have to take a trip to the pool this evening! I will be sad tomorrow but I realize how fortunate I am to be able to spend the entire summer with my little man.

Although I am excited for the new school year to start, I have a feeling that I will begin a countdown to fall break after day 1!

Isle of Palms

We had yet another beach trip last week and had a wonderful time! Went down with some of Luke's work pals and enjoyed great drinks, great food, and great relaxation! I of course forgot to charge my camera so we have no photo memories from this trip, other than the ones from my phone :) But Owen enjoyed himself and took his daily naps on the beach and didn't even mind getting sand blasted!

I can officially say that Owen is now officially a "sitter" after this trip. On the Edisto trip he began sitting for short periods of time, but this trip Owen showed us that he is now able to sit by himself for extended periods of time! I feel like he hits a new milestone almost everyday, I know he will be crawling before I know it :)
