2 Months

I can't believe Owen is already two months old! We had a very busy day today which started out with a visit to school. Owen got to meet all of my students as well as attend a special chapel service in his honor (it was to honor all faculty children that were born in the past five years). He did pretty well in chapel, but he of course got hungry half way through and more than one person commented how active he is--I think we will be very busy once he is on the move! All of the students were very excited to see him and Ashe even commented that he must be very well behaved because he didn't make a sound during chapel--you've got to love how 2nd graders think! We finished the day off with a trip to the pediatrician for his check up and first vaccines. He screamed, but that was not the first time that I heard him do that :) So, his stats for his second month are as follows: Weight 8 lbs 15 oz Height 22 1/2 inches
The first picture shows Owen after his shots, with the bandage to prove it.

Meeting Grandpa

Grandma and Grandpa Pfister came in for a quick visit on my birthday. They were able to give me the best birthday present ever--a night on the town with my husband while they babysat. I think that all parties involved were beyond thrilled! As you can see, Owen has taken to Grandpa quite easily. He must know that he is a sucker!

Falls Park

We had a beautiful day in the park today! Grandma and Grandpa Pfister, Owen, Marlow, and myself enjoyed the 70 degree weather with a walk in the park (Marlow had a swim) and a fantastic lunch at Overlook Grille. Owen was very content on the walk and was even able to stay awake for part of it, but he did spend most of his time dozing. He must take after his mother, that is one of my favorite pasttimes, sleeping in the sun!! We are going to root on MSU in the tournament tonight at Indigo Joe's Sports Bar--yes, I am going to take my baby to a bar! Hopefully he will be cooperative.

This is for you, Teddy

I finally saw the comment on the first video post and realized that Teddy requested more videos to the blog...so here ya go! Enjoy Owen doing a little babbling, I apologize in advance for my baby talk--trying to get him to be a little more interactive for all of you viewers :)

Momma is HAPPY!!

Little Owen officially slept through the night last night!! He slept until 5:30, I have not slept entirely through the night since I was probably 7 months pregnant, so this was a welcomed surprised. He has been a pretty decent sleeper, but usually wakes up around 4 am. I am REALLY hoping that this type of sleep will become more consistent. Trying not to get my hopes up though (especially since just a few days ago he was up between 1-3 am). Sorry I don't have a picture to go along with this post, but I wouldn't want to wake him by taking a picture of him sleeping in his crib. Maybe I'll get a picture in the future when I am a little more confident in his sleeping abilities.

SMILE!!

Well it is official, Owen's smiles are no longer due to just gas. He is actually smiling and it couldn't have come at a better time! We transferred Owen into his own room this week and let's just say that wasn't his idea of a good time. After keeping me up for what seemed like ALL night, I was greeted in the morning with the biggest grin that I have ever seen!! It made my heart melt and I get so excited everytime that I see it. Well I knew that I wanted to capture it for the blog, so I spent all day yesterday and today trying to capture it. While these pictures are good, they do not do his smile justice because in real life it takes up his entire face! I'm sure I will be able to capture it in the future.

Uncle Mike

Owen got to meet his Uncle Mike this past weekend; Owen really enjoyed Mike's lullabies. Mike was nice enough to babysit for a little bit one morning and all Owen did was cry--sorry Mike! I think the Beatles tunes settled him down though. We can't wait to see you again, hopefully it will be soon!

First Bath

We were finally able to have our first official bath, and it went much better than expected. Owen really seems to like the water, which Luke thinks is a good sign for our Lake Murray adventures this summer! I managed to escape without becoming drenched, but I think those days are still ahead of me...
